Of this number, 1,193 households had elderly members, 1,534 <br />had handicapped members, and 1,828 had young children. The average <br />grant per household was $309.00. Unfortunately, 836 households were <br />formally denied assistance due to the income limitations under which <br />the program operated. This number does not include those applicants <br />who, after learning about the guidelines, decided not to complete <br />an application. <br />In order to insure that RAP can continue to help low income re- <br />sidents of Ramsey County meet skyrocketing energy costs, we would <br />very much appreciate receiving from you a letter of support for our <br />program.
