I.haf. the Minnesota Department of <br />Economic Security Crant would employ twelve unemployed individuals who <br />would have three Illajur job rl;rponsihiliCics, The first major job <br />responsibility would he preparal:inn of the trail hed area which would <br />be compleLed in approximately .1 - 5 weeks. 'i'his phase of the project <br />would include culling the undi`rlu•ush, cul.linq trues, doing rouyll <br />grading, correcting soil erosion problems and terracing the area where <br />needed. <br />Once the initial t"Al w011 iti C11llllflc14"n, the ,rant proposes that we <br />would sub uuL the bil.uminuus Lrail 111,lLuria1 preparation including <br />dolomite or class 5 to Buck Miaektop at a cost of $24,552.00 for <br />material with the remaining $12,700.00 in labor costs. <br />The second phase of the project once the actual trail has been <br />installed would be to clean the trail area and prepare the trail <br />boulevard for landscaping, This phase of the project would take <br />approximately two weeks and would be totally labor intensive which <br />would include slaking of landscaping materials, purchase of <br />landscaping materials, hole digging, soil preparation and distribution <br />of mulch material. <br />The final two weeks of the project: would be for actual installation of <br />landscaping materials including the shade trees and prairie <br />restoration area as well as installation and constructiol. of all site <br />amenities. The major site amenities would include waste recepticles <br />and construction of the bench areas. <br />Staff envisions that the project would commence on Monday, July 11 and <br />be completed at the end of ton weeks on Friday, September 2, 1983. It <br />should be noted that the City of Mounds View has been involved with <br />similar projects with other s!:ate and funeral agencies and our record <br />is exempliary in completing Lhu final project within budget and as <br />proposed. <br />
