rRESOLUTION NO. 1593 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING APRIL 23 AND <br />MAY 21, 1983 AS "ARBOR DAYS" <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of Mounds View and New Brighton have <br />entered into a joint powers agreement to provide urban forestry <br />programs to the two respective cities of New Brighton and <br />Mounds View; and <br />WHEREAS, both cities are proud of the green canopy that <br />shades our city parks and residential areas; and <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of New Brighton and Mounds View <br />have planted trees in Meadow Wood Park and Silver View Park, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Arbor Day is a time to appreciate the contribu- <br />tions made by shade trees to our cities and to undertake a <br />coordinated and cooperative effort to increase the shade tree <br />population within our respective neighborhoods and parks, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayors of the <br />cities of New Brighton and Mounds View do hereby proclaim <br />April 23 and May 21, 1983 as "Arbor Days" in each of our <br />respective cities. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that both cities hereby proclaim <br />the month of May as "Arbor Month" and call upon the public <br />spirited and foresighted citizens to assist in the planting <br />of trees now for the enjoyment and use of future generations. <br />Adopted this 25th day of April, 1983. <br />ATTEST: <br />Duane W.
