RESOLUTION NO. 1473 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY i STATE OF MINNESOTA WHEREAS, the Mounds View Fire Department formally condemned the existing park shelter buildings by letter dated July 9 , 1981; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mounds View formally directed staff to seek community groups and/or organizations to dismantle and/or remove the three buildings at Hillview, Oakwood and Woodcrest Parks; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mounds View authorized the use of portable shelter buildings during the Winter of 1981-82; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mounds View approved the purchase and construction of one new shelter building at Lambert Park; and WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission of the City of Mounds View desires to establish a policy as to the future status of temporary and perman- ent park shelter buildings for the City of Mounds View's park system. NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT RESOLVED the Mounds View City Council hereby adopts the following parameters and guidelines for the future construction and/or rent- ing/leasing of park shelter buildings. 1. The two existing park shelter buildings at Greenfield and Lambert Parks should be removed, demolished and/or dismantled as soon as alternative buildings are constructed. 2. That the City Council hereby adopts a goal of constructing one park shelter building each year similar to the design and con- struction of the Lambert Park shelter building. 3. That the City Council authorize the use of portable buildings (such as portable trailer buildings) for the winter skating program during the interim between the construction of permanent buildings. 4. That park shelter buildings be designed and built with a multitude of purposes in mind, such as winter skating/warming house, summer playground usages, picnicing, community groups, equipment storage, maintenance use, etc. 5. That the two park shelter buildings at Silver View Park and Green- field Park be constructed with indoor plumbing and that these buildings would be larger than the standard neighborhood park shelter buildings.
