RESOLUTION NO. 1473 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />i STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Fire Department formally condemned the existing <br />park shelter buildings by letter dated July 9 , 1981; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mounds View formally directed <br />staff to seek community groups and/or organizations to dismantle and/or remove <br />the three buildings at Hillview, Oakwood and Woodcrest Parks; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mounds View authorized the use <br />of portable shelter buildings during the Winter of 1981-82; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mounds View approved the purchase <br />and construction of one new shelter building at Lambert Park; and <br />WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission of the City of Mounds View <br />desires to establish a policy as to the future status of temporary and perman- <br />ent park shelter buildings for the City of Mounds View's park system. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT RESOLVED the Mounds View City Council hereby adopts <br />the following parameters and guidelines for the future construction and/or rent- <br />ing/leasing of park shelter buildings. <br />1. The two existing park shelter buildings at Greenfield and Lambert <br />Parks should be removed, demolished and/or dismantled as soon as <br />alternative buildings are constructed. <br />2. That the City Council hereby adopts a goal of constructing one <br />park shelter building each year similar to the design and con- <br />struction of the Lambert Park shelter building. <br />3. That the City Council authorize the use of portable buildings <br />(such as portable trailer buildings) for the winter skating <br />program during the interim between the construction of permanent <br />buildings. <br />4. That park shelter buildings be designed and built with a multitude <br />of purposes in mind, such as winter skating/warming house, summer <br />playground usages, picnicing, community groups, equipment storage, <br />maintenance use, etc. <br />5. That the two park shelter buildings at Silver View Park and Green- <br />field Park be constructed with indoor plumbing and that these <br />buildings would be larger than the standard neighborhood park <br />shelter buildings. <br />
