Mounds View Planning Commission August 4, 1982
Regular Meeting Page Two
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Technician Kampel reported the architect, Bruce
Tunell, has presented plans showing where the
parking spaces would be located,
There was considerable discussion among the
Commissioners regarding the number of parking
spaces io be required for the development, with
the concensus being one per unit, or 40 spaces.
Technicial Kampel stated the developer had submitted
the plans to HUD showing 26 parking spaces, with
HUD approving the project based on that site plan.
lie added that per Resolution No. 58-82, 40 parking
spaces would be required, while under the R-4 section
of the code, 100 parking spaces would be required,
and while the resolution grants a variance from 100
to 40 parking spaces, the developer is counting on
a change order to fund the additional required
parking spaces, which could be added in following
commencement of the project.
Mr. Tunell stated they would like to go ahead with
26 spaces, and if it is felt the additional 1.4 spaces
are required once the project is complete, they could
add them then. He also explained the budget difficul-
ties they have been having with the project, and the
paperwork and red tape involved in getting HUD to
finance the additional parking spaces.
It was the concensus of the Planning Commission
that 40 parking spaces should be required, one per
unit, and it should be sent to HUD that way, with
the Planning Commission being willing to meet with
whoever was necessary to get the parking situation
resolved.
Motion/Second: Warren/Anderson to adopt Resolution
0 5F3T.. -
5 ayes 0 uays
Motion/Second: Linke/Anderson to adopt Resolution
A_07TT2
5 ayes 0 nays
Motion/Second: Mountin/Warren to forward the infor-
mation to the City Council, as soon as possible, with
a copy to the Planning Commission.
Health Central,
Inc./Unity Medi
cal Center, 255
Mounds View Dr,
Development Pro
posal (Elderly
lisg.
