Also it <br />would leave no ro,rson for peuple to leave <br />meetings held in this City ford inq Lhry had <br />wasted their Lime in attendance and ds though <br />they really hadn't seen their gnvernmont work <br />for them. Also, I don't know if the Mayor and <br />Council ire aware that many times the discussions <br />cannot be heard ly its audienrp and especially not <br />by the senior citizens or hearing impaired <br />citizens of which there are many! As public <br />Officials i feel you should inunedialely strive to <br />reinforce your respect for the Open Meeting Law <br />by preventing these practicies from continuinc_I. <br />Mayor McCarty pointed out to Mrs. McCarthy <br />that every item in the Council packet, including <br />resolutions, was in a folder on a table in the <br />Council Chambers for public reviewal. Further- <br />more, the City Charter allows dispensation of <br />reading resolutions by unanimous consent of <br />the Council and residents or always read on <br />request of'anyone in the audience. Mayor <br />McCarty isked if Mrs. McCarthy had [he records <br />(of the meetings that she was objecting to) <br />and if she knew when the meeLinils were held. <br />Mrs. McCarthy replied she did not. <br />Mayor McCarty stated, "Then you are talking <br />about something you know nothing about." <br />There were no more comments from the. floor. <br />REGULAR MEETING, CLOSED: 7:42 p.m. <br />PUBLIC HEAR1110 OPENED: 7:42 p.m. <br />Applicant requests approval of a preliminary 9.
