RESOLUTION NO. 1516 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE FINDINGS OF THE <br />INFILTRATION/INFLOW ANALYSIS AS CONDUCTED <br />BY TKDA AND ASSOCIATES <br />WHEREAS, as part of the Combined Sewer Overflow Study <br />conducted by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission, an <br />Infiltration/Inflow Assessment was performed for the City of <br />Mounds View; and <br />WHEREAS, Mounds View was determined to have "potentially <br />moderate" Infiltration/Inflow; and <br />WHEREAS, based upon this "potentially moderate" ranking, it <br />was recommended that a more detailed Infiltration/Inflow Study be <br />performed; and <br />WHEREAS, the City contracted with TKDA and Associates to <br />conduct this more detailed study; and <br />' — WHEREAS, the results of this study estimated that the total <br />base waste water flow for the sanitary sewer system was 294 million <br />gallons per year; and <br />WHEREAS, the total annual Infiltration/Inflow for an average <br />year, as estimated by TKDA and Associates, is approximately 122 to <br />132 million gallons; and <br />WHEREAS, based upon current figures, the cost to the City of <br />Mounds View to transport and treat the present Infiltration/Inflow <br />is approximately $91,000.00 annually; and <br />WHEREAS, based upon U.S. Environmental Protection Agency <br />criteria, no excessive infiltration or inflow is present; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of the study, the report indicates that <br />there is no need to further study the sanitary sewer system or <br />portion thereof; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Mounds View <br />concurs and accepts the findings of the Inflow/Infiltration Report <br />prepared by TKDA dated October, 1982; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />directs its City -staff to continue monitoring selected portions of <br />the sanitary sewer system with its own personnel and equipment and <br />also to submit necessary materials and data for final grant payment. <br />
