Mounds View City Council November 22, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Two <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br />cost of living increases, rather merit increases. <br />Motion/Second: Forslund/Hodges to approve the <br />consent agenda, minus Item G, and waive the <br />reading of the resolutions. <br />4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley read Resolution No. 1508, <br />in appreciation to Ken Breske. <br />Motion/Second: Blanchard/Forslund to approve Reso- <br />Yu—t­io-n—N—o.—I508 in appreciation of Ken Breske. <br />4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />It was noted that Mr. Breske had been a very <br />valued member of the Planning Commission and that he <br />would be missed. <br />Mayor McCarty closed the regular meeting and opened <br />the public hearing at 7:41 PM. <br />Finance Director Brager gave a presentation of the 6. Public Hearing - <br />projected 1983 income statements for the water Sewer and Wr <br />utilities and sewer utilities, and also gave examples Budgets an <br />of how much revenue could be earned by raising the Rates <br />rates various levels. <br />Mayor McCarty closed the public hearing and reopened <br />the regular meeting at 7:50 PM. <br />Finance Director Brager answered questions from the <br />Council regarding the proposed budget. <br />Mayor McCarty pointed out the high percentage of the <br />sewer charge which goes to the MNCC" and stated it <br />would be separated on bills in the future. He also <br />recommended tabling any action on the budget or rate <br />increases, in light of the State's financial crisis. <br />Motion/Second: McCarty/Forslund to table indefinitely <br />any rate increase in the utility funds. <br />4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Finance Director Brager recommended to the Council <br />that they place a freeze on any type of capital <br />purchases, until the State financial crisis is <br />solved. <br />r <br />
