39.14 <br />(3) All parts of ground signs, other than temporary <br />ground signs, shall be designed for wind pressure of not less <br />than 30 pounds per square foot, and ground signs of wood con- <br />struction shall have all members which extend into the ground <br />protected from decay by treatment with a preservative approved <br />by the chief inspector. <br />(4) No permit shall be granted for the location of any <br />ground sign having a sign area of more than 40 square feet, <br />within 100 feet of any single-family residence; provided that <br />the Council may grant a special permit herefor if the owner of <br />such residence gives his written consent thereto. <br />(5) Pedestal signs permitted by the zoning regulations <br />of the Municipality and by this chapter may be located adjacent <br />to the right of way of a street or highway, but no part thereof <br />shall extend over such right of way. <br />(6) No sign shall exceed 35 feet in height. <br />Subd#vision-97 Subdivision 3. Clearance of Signs From <br />Conductors. The minimum clearance of any sign from unprotected <br />electrical conductors (whether poles or other installations) <br />shall not be less than 36 inches for conductors carrying not <br />over 600 volts, and 48 inches for conductors carrying more than <br />600 volts. <br />Subdivision-87 Subdivision 4. Signs Along Freeways. <br />L•'xcept as otherwise provided in this chapter pter signs located on <br />property adjacent to any freeway within the Municipality <br />(including Interstate Highway 35W) shall be business signs <br />advertising businesses being conducted on the premises on which <br />the signs are located. No "traveling" or changing -message signs <br />shall be located so as to face any freeway or be visible from <br />the freeway.
