MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Clerk -Administrator <br />DATE: December 7, 1982 <br />SUBJECT: POLICE PATROL CAR BIDS <br />On Mondav, December G, 1982, the bids for the purchase of a 1983 <br />Police patrol car were opened,with one bid being received from <br />Iten Chevrolet for both a Chevrolet Impala and Chevrolet Malibu. <br />After discussing these bids with Police Chief Grabowski and the <br />condition of our existing vehicles with him and City Mechanic <br />Dick Schmidlin, it is my recommendation that the City Council <br />reject the bids from Iten Chevrolet on the basis of the uncertainty <br />of our financial situation and the purchasing freeze established <br />by my office with an indication that should our financial situation <br />improve or the need for a new Police vehicle become more urgent, <br />the matter be reconsidered at that time. <br />DFP/pf <br />
