L'iL--(rr)y <br />MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Clerk -Administrator <br />DATE: December 15, 1902 <br />SUBJECT: STREETLIGHT PETITION <br />Attached please find a copy of a petition for the installation of <br />a streetlight at the intersection of Longview Drive and Woodale <br />Drive. The petition, as originally submitted, excluded the names <br />for property owners at two undeveloped pieces of property directly <br />across the street from the location of the proposed streetlight. <br />The owner of one of these properties, Louis Downing, has been contacted <br />and he has indicated that he will assent to the streetlight at the <br />location petitioned. The second property owner, Mr. Keith Harstad, <br />has indicated that he will not sign any petitions or agree to any <br />request for the installation of streetlights until such time as the <br />City of Mounds View "resolves the wetlands issue". In view of <br />Mr. Harstad's response and his unwillingness to directly address <br />the issue of the petition for a streetlight, staff would recommend <br />that the Council waive the requirement of approval by all abutting <br />property owners for the location of a streetlight as outlined by <br />�. our streetlight policy resolution and authorize placement of the <br />streetlight at the location requested. <br />Northern States Power Company has indicated that the site is <br />acceptable to them and that a pole can be placed at that location, <br />with power being obtained off a pole directly east of the location <br />requested. <br />Your direction in this matter will be appreciated. <br />DFP/pf <br />Attachment <br />
