C I would like to make some comlents on the Festival in the Park. <br />Earlier this year, the Festivities Commission received a letter from <br />the council, I believe, in which it was stated that the council would <br />accept no more Festival losses. As you are no doubt aware by now, the <br />1082 Festival lost more than $1,100.00. <br />The reason I bring this to your attention is that beginning <br />next week, the council will begin reviewing applications for citizens <br />who wish to sit on this and on the other advisory commissions. I would <br />like to see a concerted effort on the part of the Mayor and the council - <br />members to appoint businesspeople of our community, people who :till not <br />allow a net loss on the Festival and people who are "break-even" <br />oriented. <br />I ask that the Mayor and new council xake this a priority item <br />so that the taxpayers are not again called upon to sebisidize the <br />Festival. <br />J <br />9 tJosey lilarren <br />December 13, 1982 <br />
