RESOLUTION NO. 1523 <br />•0 CTTY 01, MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CITY OF F'RIDLEY ON THE SITING OF <br />HAZARDOUS WASTE PROCESSING FACILITIES IN FRIDLEY <br />WHEREAS, the LJinnosota Waste Management Board has identified <br />two sites in the City of Fridley as preliminary areas for processing <br />facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the Fridley Site A abutts the City of Mounds View's <br />westerly border on Pleasant View Drive from County Road 11-2 to <br />County Road 11; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has evaluated the site as <br />it relates to its conformance with the Waste Management Board's <br />"Factors For Selection Of Metro Proposed Areas" and finds that that <br />part of the site lying cast of University Avenue does not conform <br />with four of the eight factors; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has taken a position opposing <br />the siting of a hazardous waste processing facility in Fridley by <br />adopting Resolution No. 100-1982 on November 15, 1902. <br />NOW, THEREC•ORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Mounds View that the City of Mounds View supports the City of <br />Fridley's position of opposition to the siting of a hazardous waste <br />processing facility in the City of Fridley. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the waste Management Board is <br />encouraged to promote the use of existing hazardous waste processing <br />plants and sites as a means of lessening the potential hazards to <br />the general public. <br />Adopted this 13th day of December, 1992. <br />ATTEST: 1i ��— <br />Mayor <br />(SEAL) <br />Cle -Administrat r <br />J <br />
