Resolution <br />Board of <br />,'TamseJr. GOun y GOmm1SS10nerS <br />Presented By <br />Date No <br />Attention: <br />WHEREAS, The 1982 State Legislature enacted legislation mandating counties <br />to impose a production tax on the removal of aggregates from pits, quarries, or <br />deposits within the counties; and <br />WHEREAS, County Board Resolution 82-879 approved the Ramsey County Aggregate <br />Material Removal Tax ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, The ordinance provides that all moneys collected as taxes under <br />this ordinance shall be deposited in the county treasury and credited Go percent <br />to the county road and bridge fund, SO percent to the road and bridge fund of <br />those towns as determined by the County Board and to the general fund or other 1 <br />designated fund of those cities as determined by the County Board, and 10 percent 1 <br />Lo a special reserve fund; and <br />WHEREAS, The law does not define how the JO percent distribution to munic- <br />ipalities shall be apportioned; dnd <br />WIIEREAS, IL is determined that a formula similar to the annual appropriations a ; <br />to the municipalities mandated in 1,aws of Minnesota 1977, Chapter 402, is a fair � �A 16! <br />and equitable method; Now, Therefore, Be It aYaap <br />RESOLVED, That the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners hereby adopts a i <br />formula for the distribution of gravel tax revenues to <br />sey as thennumberty lofpmileses <br />of 70 percent prorated to the municipalities in proportion <br />of roads inside and maintained exclusively by each municipality bears to the total <br />number of miles of roads inside the county and maintained exclusivelyby <br />the the <br />assessed and io percent to the y forlpalities taxation inothetionately municipalities; and Be It <br />assessed valuation of all property <br />Further i <br />RESOLVED, That on or about December 15 of each year, the county will drse <br />from the trust fund estaablished forby t thishis purpose, to the municipalities, gravel <br />tax revenues due as app <br />, <br />i <br />By <br />WARREN W.
