Mounds View City y Jul Cotmcil, <br />Regular Meeting i y11 1983 <br />-------- _ <br />' •' Page Three <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley gave a brief explanation <br />of Ordinance No. 344, <br />Attorney Meyers reviewed the request the City had <br />received for additional operating hours and reviewed <br />the requirements of the ordinance. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley explained that Donatelle's <br />made the application, which, if approved, would grant <br />all licensed liquor establishments in the City the <br />additional hours. He explained that an amendment <br />was made during the 1982 legislative session, allowing <br />two additional hours on Sunday. <br />Mayor McCarty closed the public hearing and reopened <br />the regular meeting at 8:01 PM. <br />Mayor McCarty asked that Item C be removed. 6. Approval of <br />Cleric/Administrator Pauley asked that a statement Consent Agend <br />from John Johnson, in the amount of $1,563.75, be <br />added to Item H. <br />Motion/Second: McCarty/Doty to add the statement <br />TOT71,563.75from John Johnson. <br />5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carrie <br />Mction/Second: McCarty/Linke to approve the consent <br />agen a, minus Item C, and waive the reading of the <br />resolutions. <br />5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carrie <br />Carol Crowi, 8330 Pleasantview Drive, stated that <br />regarding Item C, she and her husband are in opposition <br />of the installation of a street light. She explained <br />that while there was a robbery in the neighborhood, <br />none of the neighbors leave lights on when they are out, <br />and the lots are extra deep, which provides a rear <br />entrance to the homes. She stated that five homes on <br />the block are up for Bale, and she does not want her <br />taxes raised again by paying for the power for another <br />street light. She added that she already has the phone <br />box and electrical box and fire hydrant in her yard <br />and does not want a light pole added. She stated also, <br />that if it is put in across the street, it will bother <br />her family for sleeping. <br />Councilmember Doty explained that the City has n budget <br />each year for the installation of street lights. He <br />stated they must keep in mind the health, safety and <br />welfare of the neighborhood, and that a significant <br />number of residents had petitioned for that light. <br />Councilmember Hankner explained that in response to <br />
