RESOLUTION No. 1636 <br />L- <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE. OF MINNESO'rA <br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING MOUNDS VIEW FESTIVP!'[ES COMMISSION FOR <br />THE 1983 "FESTIVAL IN 191E PARK" <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Festivities Commission was <br />responsible for coordinating and implementing the Ninth Annual <br />"Festival in the Park" which was conducted on Sunday, July 10, 1983; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the festival was attended by over 7,000 Mounds View <br />residents; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ninth Annual "Festival in the Park" celebrated <br />the 25th Anniversary of the City of Mounds View; and <br />WHEREAS, highlights of the 1983 "Festival in the Park" <br />included an ecumenical church service, refreshments, community parade, <br />color guard, showmobile entertainment, bingo, youth and adult games; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the afternoon and evening festivities were <br />concluded with a spectacular fireworks display; and <br />WHEREAS, the entire afternoon and evening was made possible <br />through the generous and dedicated donation of volunteer labor and <br />time from not only the Festivities Commission members but also other <br />^ivic interested residents. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />City of Mounds View, on behalf of the residents of Mounds View, hereby <br />congratulate and heartily commend each of the 1983 Festivities <br />Commission members including Shirley Munholand, Mark Mack, Patricia <br />Coffey, Tom Gow, Craig McCluskey, Jan ouick, Sandy Shackle and Mary <br />Saarion for their outstanding contribution; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View also extends their thanks and appreciation to the Mounds <br />View Parks and Recreation Department and their staff for their <br />involvement in making the "Festival in the Park" a success; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View commend the City Public Works Department for their efforts <br />in preparing the grounds for the 1983 "Festival in the Park". <br />Adopted this 25th day of July, 1983. <br />ATTEST: <br />Mayor Duane McCarty <br />Councilmember Blanchard <br />Councilmember Linke <br />Councilmember Hankner Councilmember Doty <br />(SEAL) <br />Clerk -Administrator Pau ey <br />
