USE PERMIT REQUEST At the August 3, 1983 Planning Commission meeting, the Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. 92-83 recommending approval of a conditional use permll to uepraiv model units in one of the Knollwood Green condominium units. Atlavhvd please find the staff report, Planning Commission Resolution No. 92-83, (minutes of the August 3, 1983 Planning Commission meeting were not yet available), in addition to Resolution No. 1640, for your review and possible adoption. Per Section 40.23, Subdivision A0 0), the City Council has the option to set and hold a public hearing on this conditional use permit. If you choose to do so, the public hearing would be set at this upcoming meeting (August 8, 1983) with the public hearing on August 22nd. The developer was not aware that conditional use permit approval was required to operate model homes. He is intending on showing the building during the upcoming Parade of Homes which starts this Sunday, August 7th. Staff has preliminarily approved the request by Ilumpal Construction to start using the building as a model on Sunday, August 7 for the Parade of Home event with the understanding stated to the applicant that if the Council does not approve Resolution No. 1640, use of the building as a model would have to be discontinued. In addition, should the Council place additional conditions on the conditional use permit, staff wil relay the conditions to the applicant. The developer also asks that the Council approve this request without a public hearing which would possibly delay the use of the building as a model for two weeks. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution No. 1640.
