MEMO TO: Mounds View City Council <br />FROM: Bruce K. Anderson, Director <br />Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br />DATE: August 11, 19113 <br />RE: Truck rental usage <br />As per the Council direction, staff is no longer utilizing one of <br />the perscnal vehicles with our summer PRAD Grant. We have <br />resolved the immediate short range issue by borrowing a vehicle <br />from the City of New Brighton and using the City Forester's truck <br />in the Public Works iepartment which freed up the old sewer truck <br />for the PRAD Grant. We'll be able to utilize the New Brighton <br />vehicle for two weeks at which time the summer C.E.T.A. program <br />will draw to a close on August 26 and at that time we will have <br />the old sewer truck available for the remaining month. <br />In addition, staff has sent out hid specifications for the <br />purchase of a one ton dump truck with bid opening date set for <br />Wednesday, August 17, 1983 and we will be providing a <br />recommendation regarding the purchase of a one ton dump truck at <br />the August 22, 1983 City Council meeting. It should be noted <br />that staff will still be providing you detailed background as to <br />how the entire City fleet is being utilized by which department, <br />which staff people are assigned to which vehicle, mileage usage <br />and other pertinent data as per the Council's direction. At this <br />time we have resolved our immediate problem by utilizing a <br />vehicle from the City of New Brighton. <br />Should you have any questions regarding this issue, feel free to <br />contact myself directly at ext. #41. <br />BKA/sll <br />
