Mounds View City Council August 8, 1983. <br />Regular Meeting Page Pour <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br />Motion/Second: McCarty/llankner to table this item <br />until such time as the Public Works Director can give <br />the Council a report on the reasons for no City <br />vehicles being available to move equipment to Silver <br />View Park, and have Staff present a proposal on how <br />to sort out the days activities without doing so in <br />one area df the City and then moving to another, <br />and provide reasons if there are no other options. <br />Also, they should immediately discontinue the use <br />of personal vehicles on City business. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion Carri <br />Mayor McCarty stated he had noticed trucks and trailers <br />parked while someone was mowing a lawn, and stated that <br />the situation should be clarified, and that some type <br />of motor pool operation should be set up. <br />O <br />Councilmember Blanchard asked if any type of a log was <br />kept of the miles driven, by whom and where. Clerk/ <br />Administrator Pauley replied that mileage is kept <br />track of as the vehicles are filled up, but Chat <br />detailed logs are not kept, due to the paperwork <br />involved./ <br />v <br />Councilmember Doty recommended that another bid be 0 <br />received so that the proper procedure would be ~' <br />followed, if a truck were to be purchased. <br />Park Director Anderson asked if there was an esta- <br />blished policy regarding the disposal of surplus <br />equipment in the City, as he had been contacted by <br />a City employee, wishing to purchase a surplus <br />generator. <br />Attorney Meyers advised that the Council must first <br />declare the equipment as surplus. Clerk/Administra- <br />tor Pauley added that after the Council has declared <br />it as surplus, the City would go out and get the <br />best price and present it to the Council. <br />Motion/Second: McCarty/Doty to approve the second 9. 2nd Reading <br />iea ink' g and —adoption of Ordinance No. 345, vacating Adoption of <br />14' of the alley right-of-way in Block 1, Iron Works Ord.
