Peltier. I have known Bill since he joined the Maplewood Police Department in April of 1970. I have found him to be a very friendly and outgoing Officer who has demonstrated an ability to work in all facets of police work. During his time with the Maplewood Police Department, Bill has done a very good job as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant and as an Administrative Sergeant. Several years ago, Bill was responsible for setting up Maplewood's crime prevention program. Even with the varied hours that he has worked, Bill still managed to find time to go back to the University of Minnesota and earn his bachelors degree; and currently he is continuing his education by working toward his masters degree at St. Thomas College. I feel that Bill's character, tenacity and intelligence would certainly qualify him for the position of Chief of Police. As I have mentioned, I have known Bill and his wife, Mary, for 13 years and find him to be as dedicated a family man as he is a Police Officer; and I feel that the City of Mounds View would do well in considering him as their Chief of Police.
