MEMO TO: Mayor rind City Council <br />FROM: Director of Public Works/Community Development <br />DATE: October 13, 1983 <br />SUBJECT: CONTESTED 2ND QUARTER WATER BILL FOR <br />MRS. JARRETT AT 2841 WOODALE DRIVE <br />Attached are the following items: <br />1. Letter from firs. Jarrett received September 1, 1983. <br />2. Letter from Director of Public Works/Community <br />Development and Finance Director dated September 21, <br />1983. <br />3. Copy of meter test date July 6, 1983. <br />On August 8, 1983 and August 10, 1983, Mr. Brager talked with <br />Mrs. Jarrett about her 2nd quarter water bill ($145.60 less $4.64 <br />credit due to meter test) researching her claim determined the <br />following sequence of events. <br />December 13, 1981 - Meter Reading 214,060 <br />February, 1982 - The Jarretts moved in at 2841 Woodale Drive <br />March 31, 1982 - Meter Reading 228,650 (14,000 gallons used) <br />June 31, 1982 - Meter Reading 248,580 (20,000 gallons used) <br />*September 30, 1982 - Meter Reading 322,850 (74,000 gallons used) <br />December 31, 1982 - Meter Reading 502,590 (180,000 gallons used) <br />Staff concludwlread iag was in error and billed an estimated <br />3,000 gallons. <br />March 31, 1983 - No reading received. Staff estimated 27,000 <br />gallons <br />June 30, 1983 - Meter Reading - 560,010 (208,000 gallons billed) <br />This bill prompted Mrs. Jarrett's calls and letter in <br />August. <br />*July 6, 1982 - Meter removed for testing by City. Meter <br />Reading 560,740 (old meter), 2,430,400 (new meter), 740 gallons <br />since 6/31/83 <br />
