The rain In Blaine falls mainly on fhe Plain —and sifsl
So why do we talk about Flood Insurance in Blaine? Be.
cause even in Blaine there is Finil designated by the Na"
lional Flood Insurance Program as "flood prone",
II you haven't sold or purchased property in fairly recent
years, chances are ynn may have never heard of the Na-
lional Flood Insurance Program. If, however, you have
been involved in buying or selling properly more recently,
you may have been asked the question, "Is the property lo.
cated in an area designated by the Federal Government as
being flood prone?" You may not have had the slightest
idea whether or not the property was located in a flood
prone area, or, for that matter, what a flood prone area was
or what the possible consequences of being in a flood
prone area might be. The intent of this article is to make you
a little more aware of the National Flood Insurance Pro"
gram and its impacts within Blaine.
