ct6/rn -7 <br />MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Clerk -Administrator <br />DATE: November 16, 1983 <br />SUBJECT: CIVIL DEFENSE MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT <br />As has previously been mentioned in Administrative Newsletters, <br />several municipalities in Ramsey County have joined forces to form <br />an informal organization of their Civil Defense Directors to join <br />efforts in developing a Mutual Aid Agreement for Civil Defense <br />emergencies and improve capabilities for responding to such emer- <br />gencies. <br />Attached to this memorandum please find an agreement developed by <br />a Subcommittee, Chaired by myself, which has been approved by the <br />overall organization for presentation to the municipalities referred <br />to in the first paragraph of the agreement. This agreement has been <br />reviewed by the City Attorney and our City insurance agent,and it <br />has been determined that the agreement meets all legal requirements <br />and would not jeopardize the City's liability insurance coverage. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff would recommend Council authorization of the <br />Mayor and Clerk -Administrator to enter into this Mutual Aid Agreement, <br />with the referenced municipalities, for assistance during natural <br />or man-made disasters or other Civil Defense emergencies. <br />DFP/pf <br />Attachment <br />
