"'� MEMO TO: Mayor and City <br />FROM: Clerk-Administr <br />DATE: March 9, 1984 <br />SUBJECT: PHOTOCOPIER <br />Staff has recently been approached by various suppliers of photo- <br />copier equipment and received proposals for the leasing of equipment <br />which would provide the City with substantially improved photocopying <br />equipment and capabilities at a lower rate than presently being paid <br />by the City of Mounds view for equipment which is inadequate with <br />respect to copy volume and sorter capability. <br />In view of this fact it would appear to be beneficial for the City <br />to receive proposals for the lease of photocopying equipment to <br />determine whether it would be to our benefit to cancel our current <br />lease agreement and enter into a new agreement for different <br />equipment. Sealed bids are not required for the leasing of this <br />equipment due to the fact that annual costs do not exceed $7,000 <br />for equipment rental and supplies. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff would recommend Council authorization to <br />prepare a Request for Proposal form and seek proposals from photo- <br />copier suppliers in the Metropolitan area for equipment that would <br />meet our photocopying needs at a lower cost than presently being <br />experienced by the City of Mounds View for outdated and outmoded <br />equipment. <br />DFP/pf <br />
