1983 LONG-TERM FINANCIAL PLAN
Page Eight
2. Aquatics Supervisor - it is anticipated that there will
continue to be the need for this part-time position,
which began in 1983, for the coordination of the City's
Aquatics Program which would be funded from the Lakeside
Park budget and the City's Recreation Activity Fund at a
projected cost of $6,000 to $8,000 annually.
3. Part-time Park Maintenance/Forestry Personnel - the Park
Maintenance Division currently has just one part-time
maintenance position to supplement the two full time
positions and has been blessed with an excellent summer
rh- Cit CdS tc 1, t f rho
.G.I.H. ]loft. . .•j . v .0gn..„
fact that the summer C.E.T.A. program provides an
invaluable service and should that program ever be
cancelled a portion of the program, which is currently
being funded at the $18,000 level, would need to be
replaced. It is proposed that a second part-time posi-
tion be included in the 1984 budget for 100 days at
$5.00/hour or $2,000 per summer. This position would be
responsible for forestry actvities during the peak Spring
and Fall periods, as well as park turf management during
the summer months.
It is proposed that the responsibilities for park maintenance
and oversight of the park maintenance crew remain as it
currently exists with the Public Works Foreman coordinating
on a daily basis with the Parks, Recreation and Forestry
Director. This change from the 1981 Public Service Program
is based on the positive working relationship between these
two individuals that has evolved during the past year.
Although the most efficient and effective way to manage the
Park Maintenance Division, should additional staff be added,
would be to place it under the direction of the Parks,
Recreation and Forestry Department, it is felt that the
organization should remain as it presently is at this time.
The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department Organizational
Chart, reflecting all proposed changes, would appear as shown
on the next page:
4
