That the City Council authorize the conversion of the following 7 <br />out of a possible 10 vehicles during 1982 with all other <br />vehicles to be converLed in 1983 or as finances permi.t•. <br />3 - Police Squad Cars <br />1980 Chevrolet Sewer Dept. Pickup <br />1977 Dodge Water Dept. Pickup <br />1980 Chevrolet Par); Dept. Pickup <br />1977 Ford 4 x 4 Street Dept. Pickup <br />Attached as Appendix D is a payback sheet for these <br />conversions. <br />3. That the City obtain bids for conversions that• would include <br />the following: <br />a. Education of employees on the operation of a propane <br />system. <br />b. Training of the City's mechanic including assisting <br />with the installation of two conversion kits. <br />c. Prices for providing all conversion kits. <br />d. Follow-up advice on the operation and maintenance of the <br />fleet. <br />e. Provision of a 1,000 gallon pumping station at no <br />additional charge to the City excluding electrical. hook-up. <br />f. Low priced propane. <br />Should the Council agree with the recommendation, staff will prepare <br />specifications for your approval.
