RESOLUTION NO. 1729 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING APRIL 21 AND APRIL 28, 1984 AS "ARBOR <br />DAYS" AND THE MONTH OF MAY AS ARBOR MONTH <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of Mounds View and New Brighton have <br />entered into a joint powers agreement to provide urban forestry <br />programs to the two respective cities, and <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of New Brighton and Mounds View have <br />been recognized as Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day <br />Foundation and desire to continue their tree planting ways, and <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of New Brighton and Mounds View are <br />planting trees in Meadow Wood Park and Groveland Park, and <br />WHEREAS, Arbor Day is a time to appreciate the contributions <br />made by shade trees to our cities and to undertake a coordinated <br />and cooperative effort to increase the shade tree population <br />within our respective neighborhoods and parks. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayors of the <br />Cities of New Brighton and Mounds View do hereby proclaim <br />April 21 & April 28, 1984 as "Arbor Days" in each of our <br />respective cities. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that both cities hereby proclaim <br />the month of May as "Arbor Month" and call upon the public <br />spirited and foresighted citizens to assist in the planting <br />of trees now for the enjoyment and use of future generations. <br />Adopted this 9th day of April, 1984. <br />ATTEST: <br />Mayor <br />(SEAL) <br />Clerk -Administrator <br />
