MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Clerk-Administrato <br />DATE: April 10, 1984 <br />SUBJECT: ENERGY COORDINATOR <br />As you know, we, along with the City of Blaine, have been attempting <br />to locate an individual to serve as the Energy Coordinator for the <br />cities of Mounds View and Blaine under our recently organized <br />Energy Conservation Program. Attached please find a letter of <br />application and resume from Ms. Rita Docken, the only applicant <br />for the position. Ms. Docken will be graduating from the Red Wing <br />Energy Education Center in June and was recently interviewed by <br />myself and representatives for the City of Blaine and found to be <br />most qualified for the position. Staff would recommend Council <br />authorization for the hiring of Ms. Docken for a six month period, <br />with primary funding to be provided by the State MEED Program and <br />supplementary wages of $2.73 per hour paid by the cities of Mounds <br />View and Blaine. The MEED salary with the supplement from the <br />cities of Mounds View and Blaine would result in an annual compensa- <br />tion of $14,000 per year. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Authorization to hire Ms. Rita Docken for a six <br />month period commencing May 14, 1984 as Energy Coordinator at a <br />base wage of $6.73 per hour supplemented by the MEED Program at <br />a rate of $4.00 per hour, with the supplementary salary of $2.73 <br />per hour being paid for on a 50% basis by the City of Blaine. <br />DFP/pf <br />Attachment <br />
