41, 3
MEMO TO: Mayor and City Coun i
FROM: Clerk -Administrator
DATE: April 10, 1984
SUBJECT: CITIZEN SURVEY
Attached please find a copy of the City of New Brighton's report
on the results of a Citizens Survey performed during 1982. This
item has been discussed by Department Heads at the request of
Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director Anderson. The Department
Heads, after reviewing the material and obtaining information from
Mr. Anderson regarding the cost of this project, felt that a similar
project for the City of Mounds View would be of significant benefit
in that it would provide us with citizens perspective on City services
which would be most beneficial during the budgetary process in
evaluating the perceived value of our services. Should Council wish
to undertake this project, staff would recommend that we be authorized
to seek proposals from outside consultants for the preparation of the
document as well as the compilation of the data and development of a
summary report. We would also, during the time we are seeking pro-
posals from consultants, identify those organizations that would be
interested in helping the City perform this survey as it would be
a labor intensive project requiring door-to-door interviews. Finally,
during this time staff would also propose that we prepare a proposed
list of issues to be included in the survey for Council review prior
to submittal to a consultant for preparation of the actual survey
form.
Your direction in this matter would be appreciated.
DFP/pf
Attachment
