AV, <br />MEMO TO: Clerk -Administrator & City Council <br />FROM: Director of Public Works/Community Developme t r, <br />DATE: May 21, 1984 <br />SUBJECT: Summary of 1983 Water Meter Service Program & <br />Recommendations i <br />Staff has reviewed the 1983 water meter service program and is <br />submitting to you a summary of the program with conclusions & <br />recommendations. <br />Below is a listing of the numbers and types of meters in the <br />City's system: <br />Dec 31, 1982 Dec 31, 1983 <br />Total meters in system 2753 2781 <br />approx. 9 Neptune Trident, <br />Trident 8 and Tri-Seal 58% 588 <br />approx. % Rockwell 33% 36% <br />approx. % Cored 98 66 <br />In 1983, 305 meters were serviced: <br />94 Cored meters were replaced with Rockwell meters <br />`- 27 Neptune meters were replaced with Rockwell meters <br />14 Rockwell meters were replaced with Neptune meters <br />7 Cored meters were replaced with Neptune meters <br />136 Neptune meters were serviced. <br />27 Rockwell meters were serviced. <br />The 305 meters serviced this year along with the 353 meters <br />serviced last year (658 total) represent 23% of the total number <br />of meters in the City. <br />The 1982 report recommended the following program for servicing <br />meters be in 1983: <br />a. Service approximately 300 meters. 305 meters were <br />serviced in 1983. <br />b. Target the balance of the Cored meters in Zones III and <br />IV. This was completed in 1982. Also target those Corad <br />meters in Zones I and II installed in 1973 and 1974. <br />This was completed in 1983. Please refer to drawing fl <br />for Zone locations. <br />c. Target the Neptune tri-seal meters in Zones III and IV <br />installed prior to 1971. This was completed in 1983. <br />7 <br />
