Call to Order <br />Mayor McCarty at 7:30 PM on August 27, 1984. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was said. <br />2. Pledge of <br />Allegiance <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Councilmembers Doty, Links, Hankner, 3. Roll Call <br />anc SI— arTand Flayor McCarty. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Meyers and Clerk/ <br />A min strator Pauley. <br />Motion/Second: Hankner/Linke to approve the August <br />I3� T9�C—mrn—utes as corrected. <br />4 ayes 0 nays 1 abstention <br />Councilmember Doty abstained from the vote as he had <br />not been present at the August 13 meeting. <br />Dennis Pietrini, 8434 Sunnyside Road, read a prepared <br />statement regarding the airport issue, stating that <br />he feels nothing is being done by the Council to stop <br />the expansion of the airport. He also presented a <br />resolution to the Council, asking that they adopt it <br />this evening, with his proposed strategy for handling <br />the issue. <br />Councilmember Linke explained that Mr. Merritt's <br />contract with the City is still in force, and that <br />when meetings on the environmental question come up, <br />he will represent the City. <br />4. Approval of <br />Minutes: <br />August 13, 1984 <br />Motion Carried <br />5. Residents Re- <br />quests and <br />Comments from <br />the Floor <br />Councilmember Hankner explained that the City cannot <br />proceed with a lawsuit unless there is a basis to sue, <br />and at this time there is no ILS in place, which makes <br />it difficult to sue. She added that very little can <br />be done until an environmental impact statement is in <br />hand, She also explained that the Master Plan had been <br />adopted last fall, and nothing has been done to date, with <br />no plans for construction until 1985. <br />
