Mounds View City Council E �L -- ugust 27, 1984 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />----------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />problem before with other cities, and that 6 out of <br />10 cities have responded in the affirmative to this <br />amendment. <br />There was discussion among the Council as to whether <br />the Charter would require a public hearing on a <br />rate increase. <br />Mayor McCarty stated they should amend the proposed <br />amendment to the franchise, rather than amend the <br />Charter to fit the contract. <br />Ccuncilmember Blanchard asked for an explanation of <br />the problems Group W has been experiencing, and why <br />they have not been able to live up to their promises. <br />Mr. Schuster explained the cable tv industry as a <br />whole is having a problem, as cable tv franchises <br />overbid. He added the problem is due to economics. <br />Mrs. Fritz stated they had had a problem with the <br />way the workmen handled themselves while they were <br />on their property. Mr. Franke apologized and stated <br />that he is working for the citizens and anyone who <br />has a problem should contact him. <br />I Mr. Schuster stated that customer relations are very <br />important to them. <br />Jerry Skelly brought the Council up to date on the <br />cable system. Mayor McCarty thanked him for the <br />amount of time and effort he has put into this. <br />Mayor McCarty closed the ppublic hearing and reopened <br />the regular meeting at 9:30 PM. <br />It was the concensus of the Council to have the <br />contract addressed before any amendment be considered <br />to the Charter. <br />Mayor McCarty asked that Items A and C be removed 7, Approval of <br />from the consent agenda. Consent Agenda <br />Counci.'_member Linke asked that Item P be removed. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley asked that Items J <br />through M be removed for discussion. <br />Motion Second: Hankner/Blanchard to approve the <br />consent agenda, minus Items A, C, P, J, K, L and <br />I M, and waive the reading of the resolutions. <br />5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported that on Item A, <br />
