RESOLUTION NO. 84-9-6/3 <br />The following resolution was offered by Commissioner Spartz, seconded <br />by Commissioner Sivanich: <br />WHEREAS, most of Hennepin County's approximately 7,500 employees are <br />members of the Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA), and <br />WHEREAS, recent actions of the PERA board regarding the appointment of <br />an executive director have been questioned by board members representing the <br />Minnesota League of Cities and Association of Minnesota Counties, and <br />WHEREAS, such organizations and other individual board members may take <br />legal action to resolve the matter and the Minnesota Legislature may conduct <br />its own hearings into the matter, <br />BE IT RESOLVED, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners supports the <br />efforts of the Association of Minnesota Counties to ensure the proper operation <br />of PERA and also urges the Minnesota Legislature to examine the operations of <br />PERA. <br />The question was on the adoption of the resolution and there were <br />Seven YEAS and No NAYS as follows: <br />COUNTY OF HENNEPIN YrA NAY OTHER <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />Jeff Spartz X - <br />Randy Johnson X - <br />Richard E.
