Anderson <br />Parks, Recreation <br />DATE: November 21, 1984 <br />RE: 1985 City Newsletter Bid Opening <br />Staff forwarded bid proposals and specifications to approximately <br />30 perspective bidders in early November, 1984. The bid opening <br />was slated for Wednesday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m. and nine <br />firms submitted proposals. The bid proposals range from a low of <br />$43.00 per page to a high of $112.00 per page which reflects an <br />annual cost of a low of $6,840.00 to a high of $17,024.00. <br />Staff would recommend that the low bid of $45.00 per page or <br />$6,840.00 be awarded to Advanced Printing. Staff has included <br />copies of the bids received as well as letters of recommendation <br />regarding Advanced Printing. As can be noted, Advanced Printing <br />is currently printing the city newsletters for the Cities of <br />Lexington, Spring Lake Park, New Brighton, Fridley as well as the <br />Suburban Chamber Scene. Staff has reviewed the references as <br />submitted by Advanced Printing, and feels confident t�..- they <br />would be able to meet the City's printing needs for 1985. <br />Should you have any questions regarding staff's recommendation on <br />this issue, feel free to contact myself directly at 784-3055, <br />ext. #41. <br />RECOMMENDATION: To authorize staff to enter into a formal cor- <br />tract agreement with Advanced Printing at the rate of $45.00 per <br />page or total printing cost of $6,840.00 for the printing of the <br />1985 City Newsletter, with funds to come from the City's General <br />Fund. <br />BRA/sll <br />attachments <br />
