MEMO TO: Clerk -Administrator and City Council
FROM: Director of Public Works/Community Developmen `
DATE: November 19, 1984
SUBJECT: RESIDENTIAL WATER METERS
Staff has determined that the City needs approximately 36
residential water meters. The 1984 water budget (Item
700-121-4703) includes the purchase of 100 new water meters for
approximately $5,000.00.
I received two quotes for the subject water meters. Attached
please find a quote from Davies Water Equipment Company and
another quote from Water Products Company. The quote from Davies
Water Equipment Company is for $1,688.04 ($46.89 per meter x 36
meters). The quote from Water Products Company is for $1,634.40
($45.40 per meter x 36 meters).
As you know, the City purchasing policy requires that purchases
from $1,000.00 to $10,000.00 may be made only after obtaining two
or more written quotes from suppliers and the purchase shall be
awarded by the City Council.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the purchase of 36 water meters
from Water Products Company for a total cost of $1,634.40.
SWT/bc
Attachment
