Corporate Risk Managers, Inc.
109 eden west pfole9elonai building
7525 mlichell road • eden prairie, minnesola 55344 • (612) 937.8942
TO City of Mounds View City Council
DATE: December 3, 1984
SUBJECT: Corporate Risk Managers, Inc. Contract For Services
As you may be aware, our contract with the City of Mounds View came up for
renewal on November 1, 1984. This year's contract is proposed and written for
one year at the same annual cost as last year of $3,325. Additionally, the
terms and conditions of this contract remain the same for this year as well.
An overview of this past year's accomplishments show that the City has gained
a more effective, comprehensive and safety -oriented insurance program. Some
of the improvements are as follows:
Our office has conducted an extensive property evaluation of City buildings
and a safety inspection of all locations. This resulted in an increase in
building values with coverages broadened to all risk, replacement cost and
several safety recommendations which have been adopted by the City.
The City has, through our essi.stance, been able to broaden its coverages in
the areas of property, valuable papers and records, extra expense, contractor's
and miscellaneous equipment, boiler and machinery, automobile and general
liability, public officials' liability, umbrella liability, and bond coverages.
In conjunction with our office and City staff, the City now maintains accurrte
records and files on all City owned properties and equipment. These schedules
are continually updated by both offices in the event of any loss.
Our office continues to assist the City and its insurance company in the
handling of insurance claims.
As for this upcoming year, I anticipate my efforts and that of the City staff
will be directed towards stabilizing the City's insurance costs as the
insurance market has become very unstable, working with the City on upgrading
its property and safety programs through on -site evaluations and preparing for
the City's upcoming insurance renewal on May 1, 1985.
