Page Six <br />------.................T..n-.--.--------------- TT-n. •T-nn!Tn•�T.TTT <br />The Council thanked the Energy Council and Ms. Docken <br />for the work they have done. <br />Park Director Anderson distributed copies of the <br />1984 annual report for the park department. He <br />reviewed various financial aspects of the budget <br />and gave examiles of the income received and how <br />it is spent. He also reviewed the activites <br />of the Park and Rec department for 1984 and the <br />first quarter of 1985 and outlined upcoming <br />plans for that department.. <br />Police Chief Ramacher reviewed the first quarter <br />1985 activities of the Police Department. He <br />reported they are involved in the selection <br />process for a new police officer and have narrowed <br />down the field from the 147 applications received. <br />He reported Jack Chambers has been promoted to the <br />position of investigator, and the Community <br />Service Officer has started. <br />Chief Ramacher reported the City will be complying <br />with the request from the Minneapolis Star and <br />Tribune for a listing of the arrests and crime <br />information from the department, which will be <br />published weekly. He reported it would also be <br />reported in the New Brighton Bulletin. <br />Chief Ramacher also reviewed the training the <br />department had received during the first quarter. <br />Director Thatcher reviewed the permits issued and <br />the inspections done during the first quarter. He <br />also handed out a map of the proposed street <br />maintenance projects for 1985, and reviewed the <br />activities of the public works department. <br />Motion Second: Haake/Hankner to have the second <br />reading and adoption of Ordinance No. 386, an <br />ordinance amending Ordinance Number 319 granting a <br />franchise to Croup W Cable of the North Suburbs, <br />Inc., a Minnesota Corporation, to operate and <br />maintain a cable communication system in the City, <br />and waive the reading. <br />Councilmember Hankner - aye <br />13.
