Mt7MO TU: Clerk -Administrator and City CouneiI
FROM: Director of. public Works/Community Duvelopmerlff
DA'I'F;: April ID, 1985 '
SUHdEC'I': PINEWOOD SCHOOL PARKING LUT
Attached please find a drawing entitled, "Parking Alternate il2"
for the subject parking lot. The parking lot expansion will
provide a safer place for children to disembark buses and relieve
the periodic parking space shortage problem.
The parking lot expansion is proposed to be constructed by the
City's contractor who will he reconstructing Quincy Street from
County Road I to County Road H-2. The School District will
reimburse the City for this construction.
The Planning Commission reviewed the proposed parking lot
expansion and recommended that the parking area be shifted to the
south to save some of the trees at the north end of the proposed
parking lot.
The trees are on the School District property and do not come
under the jurisdiction of. the Planning Commission. By the way,
moving the expanded parking aroa to the south would cost the
School District approximately $3,000 more.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council approve
the parking or expansion as proposed.
SWT/bc
