When any change to a section is proposed, the entire <br />section is set out with deletions indicated with strike outs and additions <br />shown by underlining. <br />1. Gender neutral language <br />ARTICLE IV OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES <br />Section 2. The president and vice president shall each be elected <br />annually for one-year terms. Twelve directors shall be elected for three-year <br />overlapping terms. In 1974 four of these shall be elected for three-year <br />terms, four for two-year terms and four for one-year terms; thereafter four <br />annuallyshall be elected r <br />official business meeting attherannualrconveshalls. Elections <br />convention. officers shall hold office <br />for their designated terms, and until their elected or appointed successors <br />have signified their acceptance. The newly elected officers shall take office <br />immediately after the close of the annual convention. The immediate past <br />president shall serve as a member of the board of directors ex officio for one <br />year, so long as he or she holds municipal office, and the president of the <br />Association of Metropolitan Municipalities shall serve ex off icio. <br />Section 5. The president shall be chairman of the board of directors. He The oresident shall appoint all committees established by the <br />board of directors or by the constitution and shall appoint representatives of <br />the League to such non -League bodies as may be appropriate. <br />Section 7. The executive director shall be the chief administrative <br />officer of the League, subject to the general supervision of the board of <br />directors. He The executive director shall be appointed by the board of <br />directors for an indefinite period and may be removed by the board of <br />directors. He The executive director shall appoint the League employees and <br />shall administer the League office and the League services.
