Mounds View City Council Julv 22, 1985 <br />R.gular McuLing <br />------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Duane McCarty, 8060 Long Lake Road, stated they must <br />remember the consequences of downzoning and the <br />ctentisl .'or lawsuits. <br />Director Thatcher clarified that there are approx,mately <br />eight locations in question. <br />Don Liss, an attorney representing K-Gas, stated they <br />did not attend a business meeting. lie also explained <br />that the Comp Plan is not zoning but rather a plan for <br />zoning. He added he would recommend zoning Lhe <br />radiator repair shop as commercial, and they could then <br />perhaps davelop it better. He also stated the Comp <br />Plan could be amended to allow a small B-3 area. <br />Giace Thomas, hOO Groveland Road, stated her property <br />abutts the radidtur repair shop and they have had man/ <br />problems with the business operation. She stated she <br />feels the area off Highway 10 should be reside.^.tia'_ <br />only. <br />Councilmember Hankner asked if the residents are will- <br />ing to pay for litigation that most likely would result <br />from rezonings, and whether they believe the rest o° <br />the taxpayers, in Mounds View should subsidize that <br />litigation. <br />Phyllis Blanchard, 8005 Groveland Road, stand she <br />was speeking as a resident and not a Councilmember, <br />and stated she is not opposed to charge but does not <br />feel District 6 should change to anything but should <br />remain. residential. <br />Mr. McCarty stated he feels that as a community, the <br />people will stay together, and the Council should <br />consider compensating the people who mAv have their <br />zoninq changed. <br />Mr. Trimbo etated he was opposed to spending any money <br />on this. <br />Bill Frits 8072 Long Lake Road, stated they must look <br />at the overall picture, and they must quit decreasing <br />lot size and filling up the City and overworking the <br />serviccc. <br />Steve Dahlke, 8030 Groveland Road, stated he lives <br />directly behind the radiator repair shop and he has <br />had considerable problems with that operation and <br />specifically the dogs there. <br />Councilmember Hankner stated the Council would like to <br />hear from as many residents as possible, and they <br />were welcome to call or write any of the Councilmembers <br />if they did not wish to speak publicly. <br />
