Mounds View City Council July 22, 1985 <br />Regular Meeting Page Seven <br />---------------------------------------- ----------------- <br />D uector Thatcner rE3ie::c3 the activities of the <br />11. 2nd Quarter 1965 <br />Community Development and Public Works departments Department Head <br />for the second quarter of 1985. He stated he was and Commission <br />Re oo res <br />very pleased with the way the Public Works foreman <br />position has worked out. He also reviewed the <br />upcoming activities for the Public Works department. <br />Councilmember Hankner expressed concern that the City's <br />building permit fees might be high, and the possibility <br />that they might be preventing home owners from making <br />changes to their homes. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley explained the City has always <br />been below the State averages for building permit fees, <br />and when they were last increased three years ago, they <br />did not bring them up to average at that time. He <br />stated the City's fops are 1?Qs than many surrounding <br />cities. <br />Mayor Linke stated she Council had invited the Chair- <br />man of the Planning Commission to the meeting this <br />evening to open up the lines of communication. He <br />added they will be doing ;his will all the various <br />commissions. <br />Peg Mountin stated they would like to keep the <br />Planning Commission size at the minimum level of 7 <br />members until they have completed the Comp Plan <br />update:, as it is very difficult to train in new <br />members as they go and continue working on a project <br />of this nature. She also stated she would like to <br />see the City pass on information that is received <br />on training or seminars that would be beneficial to <br />the Planning Commission. <br />Counclimember rankner reported she had received a <br />suggestion fror.. a Commission member who would like <br />to sea the City present a letter or something it <br />writing to the vsrtous commission members, perhaps <br />o:ice a year, recognizing thei: achievements, which <br />could then be something they could put in their <br />resume or personnel files in thee: private life. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley stated they could send <br />a letter out at the end of each year, from the Mayor <br />and Council, acknowledging that persons participa'.ion <br />for the past year. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reviewed the purpose of 12.
