Il COhIAUNI T Y <br />Di-t iii I NIENT <br />August 16, 1985� <br />i ^qor-, <br />Donald Pauley, Clerk-Administratui <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />2401 Highway 10 <br />Mounds View, MN 55112 <br />This letter is a fulluw-up to our cummunication with you in April and May 1995 <br />regarding our plans for overconcentration, location and dispersal of residential <br />facilities within Ramsey County. These activities are in compliance with <br />Minnesota law 617, amended in 1984. This law pertains to all facilities that <br />house six or more adults who are aiagnosed as chemically dependent, mentally <br />retarded, mentally ill or children who are dependent, neglectea, emotionally <br />disturbed or nentally retarded. <br />At the time of our last communication, we were asking for your opinion on a <br />number of issues regarding this topic. We were also retesting representation <br />from your municipality in an ongoing task force to advise us in our planning 10 <br />process on location of these facilities. <br />Since o,�r initial contact with you, we have begun to contact persons fir <br />inclusion in this task force. The planning department of the City of St, ?aul <br />has agreed to be represented as have vendors and/or advocates from all groups <br />of clients who live in the facilities impacted by Chapter 617. We ere hoping <br />that you, too, will assign a representative to thi', task force. Tne goals ane <br />tasks of th,s task force are: <br />Community Involvement In Program Development <br />a Tl,e county will implement by September 1085, a committee made up of <br />representatives of the rities/municipalities, providers and advorates <br />to act in an adviscry capacity to the department regarding the develpment <br />and dispersal of residential care facilities. rhis committee shal'- <br />provide the county with assistance in developing: <br />a A wor'< plan to provide education, resources and information that would <br />increase acceptance of community residential facilities. <br />• A mechanism to insure that the development and licensing of community <br />residential facilities are coordinated between the cities and the county. <br />6 Ongoing modification in this dispersal plan as conditions change. <br />
