V4 <br />Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />------------------------------ <br />October 28, 1905 <br />Page Three <br />--------- <br />erector Thatcher asked approval from the Council to <br />purchase the two way radios which they had discussed in <br />an earlier agenda session. lie explained that while the <br />Council had directed him to wait until the funds had <br />been received from the State of Minnesota, there is an <br />urgency in that the radios are needed to improve the <br />productivity of the public works department, and the <br />vendor has stated that he cannot hold the price down <br />any longer. Director Thatcher stated the funds are <br />expected from the State within the next few weeks,oand <br />will amount to approximately $3,000, and the <br />costthe radios is $2,613. <br />motion/Second: Haake/Hankner to approve the purchase of <br />the two way radios in the amount of $2,613, to be <br />purchased now, with the funds to come from the water <br />department until such time as they can be reimbursed <br />with the check from the State. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Attorney Karney advised that prosecutions are going <br />well, and a conviction was just handed down in the <br />fatality of a child in Mounds View approximately a <br />year and a half ago. <br />Councilmember Haake had no report. <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Councilmember Quick reported that as directed by the <br />Council at the last agenda session, he had asked the <br />Park and Rec COAnl5sion what should be done with the <br />entrance to silver View Park, and their decision was <br />that a sign would bo adequate, stating the houra and <br />when the park would be closed. <br />Councilmember Hankner had no report. <br />Mayor Linke reported the Ramey County Board of <br />back <br />Commissioners had passed a resolution turning <br />Red oak Drive to the cityro�aMoSndsMayorlLinkeand astated <br />9 <br />$3,000 for the necessary <br />that an additional $962 is still needed for the repairs. <br />to have the Public Works <br />Red Oak Drive and Ardan <br />Motion/Second: Linke/Qoat <br />Departmentt stop signs <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion Carried <br />11.
