Creighton CA <br />Legal Counsel <br />DATE: March 27, 1985 <br />RE: Franchise Amendment <br />Please find enclosed for your review and action a <br />proposed Ordinance Amendment. The proposed change <br />occurs in the Ordinance section regarding access channel <br />allocations. The Ordinance presently requires Group W <br />to provide at least 13 channels for access use. The <br />proposed amendment would require Group W to provide at <br />least 12 channels. The change is a result of a combined <br />higher education and private school access channel. The <br />Commission believes that the system provides more than <br />adequate channel space for the viewing of locally produced <br />programming in your area. Moreover, should any of the <br />full, the <br />individuals dedicated access channels become <br />Minnesota Cable Communications Board rules require that <br />additional access channels be added. It is also important <br />to note that this Ordinance Amendment in no way effects <br />Group W's commitment for funding, staffing, and equipment <br />for local programming and public access. <br />I have also included with the Ordinance Amendment <br />dunder- <br />described above, a red -lined copy. This copy has <br />lined the additions to the current franchise language <br />and is marked with an insert in those areas where the <br />franchise language will be deleted.
