By adopting an organized <br />collection System, Mounds View could off^r <br />pr3fess,on3l, dependable garbage collection PLUS <br />a m.,nthly-urbside collection of recyclable-! PLUS a <br />specialized collection of yard waste, h.:zar%lous <br />waste, or spacialized waste such as tires, batteries <br />or oil. <br />The Metropolitan Council estimat,�q that reducing <br />Mounds View's avorage monthly fee for garbaga <br />collection and hauling from $8.21 to $6.03 could <br />save the City's residents $119,028 annually. The <br />only way these savings can he realized is in <br />organized, city -franchised collection system. <br />Havirq the City collect S8.00/month/househo:d would <br />reduce the current collection fee for every residen- <br />of Mounds View. It woul' also ensure that ill <br />households pay L,r garbage collection. Pi ally, the <br />additional dollars would allow the City to offer a <br />curbside r.-cyclinq program and a drop off canter. <br />Currently, the rate for :urhside pick up of <br />recyclables is $30/ton.
