1 <br />"—'— ADDENDUM A <br />POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY WRITE-UP <br />POSITION TITLE: Aquatics Director <br />DEPARTMENT: Paprfk`s, Recreations and Forestry <br />R•Daierttetr ] , w iv °ri <br />ACCOUNTABLE T0: New Brighton Parks and Recreation <br />Director, Mounds View Parks, Recreation L Forestry Dept <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Is to organize, direct, implement, and <br />coordinate the City s aquatics program at both the Edgewood Community <br />Center pool, Nighview •Junior High pool, Lakeside Park beach, and Long, <br />Lake Regional Park beach. <br />MAJOR APEAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY <br />1. <br />Responsible for the supervision, hirinq, and evaluation of all <br />beach and pool personnel including lifeguards, water safety in- <br />structors, maintenance personnel, and related aquatics supervisors. <br />1. <br />Responsible for scheduling the working hours, rotation and staffing <br />needs of the lifeguards at both the pool and swimming beach areas. <br />3. <br />Assign work duties to assure that they are taken care of in an <br />efficient and smooth manner to include lifeguarding, first aid, <br />cleaning and other maintenance as directed. <br />C. <br />Responsible for preparation of all time sheets, Red Cross cert ' <br />fication cards and other written material as requested by the <br />respective Parks and Recreation Directors. <br />S. <br />Responsible for the in-house training and supervision of all <br />lifeguards in the areas of regulations, rules, safety procedures, <br />use of the equipment and techniques of general beach and pool <br />control. <br />5. <br />Responsible for working and coordinating with all related agencies <br />involved with the pool and beach program to include but not <br />limited to other municipal recreation departments, Mounds View <br />swimming association and local community, civic organizations. <br />7. <br />Directs and coordinates the preparation of the year round swim- <br />ming program which will be mailed to all school district residents <br />promoting swimming uppurtunitieb available throughout the <br />R. <br />Oversees a variety of public relations activities designed to make <br />the most effective use available promotional possibilities through <br />local media, flyers, school announcements, letter correspondence, <br />etc. and follows through to evaluate, to the extent possible, <br />the excess of such endeavors. <br />21 <br />
