RESOLUTION NO. 1995 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION DENYING A CHARITABLE GAMBLING LICENSE TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR ALZHEIMER'S AND RELATED DISORDERS WHEREAS, the Mounds View City Council has established a policy regarding those organizations that would be authorized to conduct charitable gambling in licensed liquor establishments in the City of Mounds View; and WHEREAS, the Hounds View City Council adopted Ordinance No. 400 amending the Municipal Code of Mounds View by modifying Chapter 100 entitled, "Intoxicating Liquor" and Chapter 101 entitled, "Non -Intoxicating Liquor': and WHEREAS, the Mounds View City Council further adopted Resolution 1969 clarifying the policy established by Ordinance No. 400; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 400 stipulates that only organizations sponsored by a fraternal, religious, veteran or other non-profit organization that have their registered offices in the City of Mounds View, and have been in existence for at least three years with at least 30 active members may secure a charitable gambling license; and WHEREAS, the Asscciation for Alzheimer's and Related Disorders has filed an application with the Minnesota Charitable Gambling Board to conduct a gambling event at the Bel -Rae Ballroom on May 4, 1986• and WHEREAS, the Association for Alzheimer's and Related Disorders does not have their registered offices in the City of Mounds View nor do they have a resident of the City of Mounds View serving on their Board of Director's. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds View does hereby deny the application for charitable gambling license submitted by the Association for Alzheimer's and Related Disorders.
