Item No. 613 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Pete Szurek — Public Works Superintendent <br />Date: March 27th, 2025 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />(2 fuiltime Park Workers, no Arborist and 0 seasonal workers) worked on the following items since <br />March 1st, 2025. <br />Parks Maintenance <br />• Picked up ice rink matting <br />• Snow removal / plowing <br />1- Public Works office: remodeling, painting, moving furniture, setting up furniture, cleaning, hole filling, <br />door painting ect. - <br />Trash and litter pickup, Mondays and Fridays <br />Assisted utility division with camera van training <br />• Community Garden post replacements, fabric replacement and tree trimming <br />• Annual playground inspections completed, parts ordered <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br />• Resident phone consults and site visits, (Responding to a several calls a week, many private <br />resident diseased tree removals left from the 2024 marking) <br />• Contractor meets and calls <br />• Arborist interviews <br />• Burning of brush pile at Silverview Park <br />• Tree sale- not doing so well, around 80 trees left for purchase <br />• Taking several calls and emails on Silverview Pond Project <br />The following is the List of Parks and projects / maintenance activities ongoing or planned this year. <br />Current updates are in black text, and updates from the previous two -month period are in grey. <br />1IPage <br />
