MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Regular Session <br />January 25, 1980 <br />Mounds View City hall <br />Council Chambers, 6.30 p.m. <br />Call to Order <br />The Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission was called <br />to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Wayne Burmeister. <br />Rcil Call <br />Commissioners present - Chairman Burmeister, Commissioners <br />Silvis, Scott, Linke, Fedor, and Weflen. <br />Commissioners absent - Commissioners Coplin, Kuiuvar, and <br />Haake. <br />Councilmember present - Councilmember Ziebarth. <br />Staff present - Director Anderson and Program Supervisor <br />Kvalheim. <br />Election of <br />Commissioner Linke made a motion to reappoint Wayne Burmeister <br />Offices <br />as Chairperson. Commissioner Scott seconded the motion. <br />Motion passed. <br />7 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Chairperson Burmeister made a motion to reappoint Gordon Fedor <br />as Vice -Chairperson. Commissioner Linke seconded the motion. <br />Motion passed. <br />7 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Commissioner Scott made a motion to appoint Commissioner Frank <br />Silvis as Secretary. Commissioner Weflen seconded the motion. <br />Motion passed, <br />7 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Silver View <br />Park Status <br />Director Anderson reviewed the latest proposal update plan <br />correspondence as received from Kraus/Anderson Inc. in regards <br />to development and acquisition of Silver View Park. <br />It was announced that the Silver View Park plan will be <br />presented to the Planning Commission Wednesday, February 6. <br />Also, the City Council will meet with Kraus/Anderson Inc. <br />Monday, February 11 for preliminary approval of the park <br />proposal as presented. <br />Film Viewing <br />"Adventure Playgrounds", a film developed in England depicting <br />the adventure playground philosophy and program format was <br />shown to the Commission. Discussion followed regarding the <br />feasibility of such a program in Mounds View. <br />33 <br />
