This joint powers agreement would replace the one adopted June 12, 1978, copy attached... copy A. The goal and the objectives of the joint efforts are: GOAL - OVERALL: TO DEVELOP AND EFFECTIVELY MAINTAIN THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS' OUTSIDE FACILITIES (FIELDS, ETC.) FOR THE CONVENIENT USE OF THE SCHOOLS AND THE CITIES. OBJECTIVES: 1 tr^ ^rovide Tftj7 ^rod out cities (field areas, etc.; ,vt use by the -schools and>cties. 2. To jointly develop and maintain the sites at agreed to standards of maintenance. 3. To cooperatively plan for the use, scheduling of the use, and main- tenance of the outside facilities, thereby using the expertise from two staffs which should bring about better communications and more efficient operations of all parties, 4. To reduce the amount of duplication of proposed or existing facilities, thereby reducing the costs of development and maintenance for both the school district and the cities. S. To jointly share in the maintenance costs by designating which party will perform which tasks. This should reduce the duplicate purchase and operation of equipment and the duplication of labor costs. In support of these proposed Joint efforts to develop, schedule for use, use, and maintain the Edgewood Junior High School outside facilities, we present on the next pages the "Mounds View Schools Community Education Department and the Mounds View Parks and Recreation Department Facilitated Usage of the Area Schools."
